From Misericordia’s Occupatoinal Therapy department’s website:
“We have a five year entry level BS/MS program for students who are embarking on their college careers. We also have a weekend program for individuals who have a bachelors degree in a field other than occupational therapy. For those who are already practicing occupational therapists, we have post-professional educational programs which include a post-professional pediatric certificate and a post-professional doctoral degree program.
We have two very active student organizations, including the Misericordia University Student Occupational Therapy Association and Pi Theta Epsilon, the Occupational Therapy honor society. We also have very experienced and qualified faculty and staff members who are eager to serve our students. Our alumni serve as occupational therapy leaders in clinical practice, research, professional associations, and administration.
Full-time, first-year students should visit our prospective students page or the OT home page. A student with a baccalaureate degree in another discipline may apply to the weekend program. This program meets on alternating weekends (year round) for three years.
Our OT Weekend Program is designed for adult learners, providing a realistic every-other-weekend schedule, top notch faculty and hundreds of available fieldwork sites. And you don’t have to do it alone! Our Adult Education staff makes sure personal and academic support services are available when you need them.
Classes are designed and structured for working adults, and the course work is presented through trimester classes that meet every other weekend – eight weekends in the fall and spring and seven in the summer.
Four hour classes meet Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended library and computer lab hours help meet the needs of our weekend college students.
Students in the weekend college program are considered part time students and benefit from the lower undergraduate tuition rate, making the program among the most affordable Weekend College occupational therapy program in the country.
